Mariah Carey and Bryan Tanaka Split After Seven Years, Find Out Why

Publish date: 2024-06-22

The “Endless Love” that Mariah Carey shared with her boyfriend Bryan Tanaka is no longer present.

According to TMZ, the couple has allegedly decided to call it quits on their romance after seven years of dating. In 2016, the Grammy winner developed an intense romantic attachment to Tanaka, who had served as her backup dancer.

It seems like they drew the line in the sand as a result of their competing expectations for the future. Tanaka desires a family, but Mimi has already checked that thing off her list.

The 12-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe, are the children of her former spouse, Nick Cannon.

When Tanaka was conspicuously absent from Carey’s shopping day in Aspen, Colorado, rumors about their breakup started to circulate. Tanaka supposedly went on this winter excursion with her in the past.

Bryan usually accompanied Mariah on her Merry Christmas One and All! tour as a backup dancer, but this time he was not present when she performed in November.

Fans were certain that this was an obvious indication of a split, even if the choreographer and the singer of “Always Be My Baby” didn’t address his absence.

It’s still unclear, though, exactly when the couple called it quits. When Bryan shared an Instagram shout-out on Mariah’s anniversary in March 2023, it was the last time Mariah and Bryan were spotted together.

However, the former couple had previously broken up more than once. Several publications claim that they momentarily broke up in 2017, but they appeared to pick up again a month later, when they were seen kissing in Los Angeles.

When did the couple meet each other?

As Bryan was one of Mariah’s backup dancers on her Adventures of Mimi tour in 2006, the once-dynamic couple got to know one another. After that, he was her creative director.

They began dating ten years later after Bryan gushed over his ex-girlfriend in an E! interview, saying he “always had a thing for Mariah.”

The professional dancer then continued, “I love her so much.” “Our friendship dates back a long way. We had a great time, as I occasionally broke into a dancing move. It will be enjoyable.

Later, Bryan explained how his friendship with Mariah turned into a romantic relationship, saying, “There was just a mutual admiration and something connected with us back in the day.”

It was over when she recognized something in me that I didn’t initially realize existed. It was predetermined throughout history that we would be connected in some fashion.

In a 2017 interview with the Associated Press, Mariah finally spoke out about her romance with Bryan.

The singer of “All I Want for Christmas” referred to Bryan as her “boyfriend,” even though she didn’t officially mention him by name. “I’ll just say that I don’t  talk about my personal life.” “Because that’s what I used to do,” she said, and “it did work for a little while back. I just don’t feel like discussing my personal life right now. My boyfriend and I are not interested in doing that.”
