Iván Archivaldo Guzmán Salazar (born June 5, 1983) is a Mexican drug trafficker, leader of the Sinaloa Cartel, a relative of the drug mafia, and controversial personality from Culiacán, Rosales. He is best known as the son of El Chapo (Mexico’s biggest drug trafficker and former leader of the Sinaloa Cartel.
Cartel is an international crime syndicate and is often dubbed as the world’s most powerful drug lord. Furthermore, El Chapo first got involved in the business with his father and helped him grow marijuana for local dealers.
He is currently serving a life sentence at ADX Florence. On the other hand, Iván Archivaldo is heavily involved in his father’s business. According to a source, he now leads the Sinaloa Cartel with the help of other family members.
Guzmán Salazar is even referred to as “El Chapito”. On February 15, 2005, he was arrested for money laundering in Guadalajara. Initially, he was sentenced to five years in federal prison but was released in April 2008.
