Israel says second hostage Noa Marciano was found dead near Gaza's Al-Shifa Hospital
Israel has announced the tragic death of the second hostage, Noa Marciano, whose body was found near Gaza’s Al-Shifa Hospital. A funeral was held for the 19-year-old Israeli soldier who had been taken captive by Hamas on October 7. According to the Israel Defense Forces, the recovery of the body came shortly after the discovery of another hostage’s body, identified as 65-year-old Yehudit Weiss, near Al-Shifa.
The IDF stated in a release on Friday, “The national task before our eyes is to locate the missing and return the abducted persons home. We will not cease from the mission until it is completed.” The IDF also claimed that targeted intelligence allowed them to locate the exact location of Marciano’s body.
Furthermore, the IDF has asserted that Al-Shifa, Gaza’s largest hospital, is situated above a central Hamas command center. The U.S. reportedly supports Israel’s claims, stating that they have intelligence to validate the information.
Alongside these claims, Israel released images and footage depicting what it described as Hamas “terror infrastructure” within the Al-Shifa hospital, featuring an “operational tunnel shaft,” as well as weapons and ammunition.
